1. A 1-5 backgame with poor timing isn't worth much. I think White is mostly hoping that Blue won't cover and she'll hit, or maybe she'll hit a shot that Blue leaves on his midpoint. Otherwise she's going to have to run off her advanced anchor and most likely play a so-so ace-point game with considerable gammon risk. Blue, however, has an awkward distribution, and could get gammoned himself if White hits a shot. Since White is behind in the match, those potential gammons are valuable. I guess D/T ATS but I'd pass for money.
2. The candidates I see are 13/5*(2), 18/14*(2) 13/5*, 18/14* 13/5*/1*, and 18/14*/10(2). I think we want to knock White off our 5pt so 18/14*/10(2) is out. The triple hit looks too disjointed when we have only a one-point board. Making the 5pt looks nice at first but it does give White good sixes from the bar and passes up an opportunity to leave our anchor cleanly, which we are eager to do since we're ahead in the race. I'll try 18/14*(2) 13/5*.
3. We have ten checkers in the zone and all our checkers escaped, while White has two on the bar and no development. However, we have only a one-point board and our distribution is not ideal. Still, I'd pass as White even ATS. Doesn't look TG. D/P.
