White is XG Roller++

pip: 13315 point match pip: 139
score: 9
Blue is BGO ReadersXGID=-B----CBB-A-fC---bbdB---a-:0:0:1:63:9:2:0:15:10 Blue to play 63 eXtreme Gammon Version: 2.02
I reject 13/6 8/5, because it stacks three builders on the bar point, at a time when we should be seeking to diversify. Then the 6 will surely be played to the 4pt, 10/4, and after that, I see three reasonable choices for the 3.
- Make 4pt — 7/4
- Slot 5pt — 8/5
- Play down to 10pt — 13/10
If we make the 4pt, then we will have three builders targeted at an unslotted 5pt. If we slot the 5pt instead, we will have three builders to cover two slotted points. 4, 3, 2 and 1 will all be cover numbers. Compared with these alternatives, playing down seems inferior.
Were we to make the 4pt, there is no number that would cause White to leave a shot. So, if we are not going to get a shot next time, why not try the bot-like play of slotting both the 4pt and 5pt. It is not wholely unreasonable. I am rejecting it, however, because I am afraid that if we did, XG might respond by slotting an outside point in front of our anchor.
Make 4pt — 10/4, 7/4
