I don't understand

I don't understand Chuck's analysis of Problem 3 (I assume that his "Problem 1" is a typo). Does he see a White checker on the bar that I don't?

I don't understand Mr Majestyk's comment about "Gammons that hurt the opp" in Problem 2. It's Crawford and we're ahead.
