This puzzle seems to be about shot counting, something that I'm not very good at. The option appears to be whether to leave a blot on the ace or hold the ace point. My take is that if Blue plays 24/18, then 64 54 44 & 34 force White to leave a shot when she wouldn't have had the ace point been held. On the other side of the ledger, 42 plays better for White with the blot.

So I count 7 shakes where blue is better off running from the ace and only 2 where he's worse. I play 24/18.
