It's not uncommon for this to happen. Microsoft built in Anti Virus began flagging Chrome as suspicious after an update last month. It is a false positive, and you can contact your AV company and let them know of the false positive. Anti virus software isn't perfect. It looks for signature bytes within a memory space, but sometimes valid software comes up positive.
But just to make sure, I downloaded the last few releases of GNUBG from the site, installed them and neither Microsoft's AV software or Norton flagged it as a problem.
It would not surprise me that you had GNUBG installed for some time without an issue and then all of a sudden running GNUBG gives that error. Usually this happens after recent AV software (signature) updates (Most people have the software set to auto update).
If you send me a copy of your GNUBG.EXE (you will have to zip it up first) to mpetch@capp-sysware.com I can validate that your executable is a problem (or not).
