Its a crossover count that decides these types of plays. Does Stick have more than 15 crossovers to save the gammon? Is it close?

So, he has 9 crossovers to bear a checker off and save the gammon. Is that close enough to 15 for us to rip one? No. Lets play it safe, 6/1. Although intrinsically you are trading the 65 anti-joker for the 62 anti-joker - but it has less future problems, and its just not worth the risk to get a checker off vs the 9 crossovers.
