Maybe its a good practice and experience to play this game til the end. But to derive advice for any (intermediate) player to just sum up all "wasted" equity and if its more than 0.12 then say "you should have cashed" seems completely wrong to me

Perhaps you are neglecting the luck and the influence it has to the possibiliy of making errors later on.

In the original position there are 4 rolls to cover the 2-point:

66, 44 and 64

Skip 44 then you have 66 and 64. This 3 rolls are the only rolls to virtually blunder away more than 0.12 equity (by not making the 2-point), still your equity has increased with playing the 2nd best (or even 6th best with 64)
