Blue is far enough ahead in the race that he doesn't need to bear in particularly fast to win. As for making a riskier play to increase gammons, I think I'll opt for safety at this score - I'm happy to play it safe and get to Crawford, and there don't seem to be many gammons anyway. Thus the blocking play 7/5(2) seems like overkill. I'd rather have fewer points to clear, so I'll opt for 9/7(2). 9/8(2) 7/6(2) accomplishes much the same thing while bearing in two, but without counting shots 9/7(2) looks like it leaves fewer.
