Blue is BGO ReadersXGID=-C-BBCaa---------bbbcbbE--:1:1:1:11:9:3:0:15:10 Blue to play 11 I’m not at all sure here. There are several plays that come to mind:
- Pick up the 5pt.
By moving 5/4(2) 5/3, we buy out of playing 4s. This maneuver may allow us to keep the 4pt, while making the 2pt in a couple of turns.
–- Slot the 2pt.
Starting the 2pt, 5/2 5/4, almost guarantees that we will make it. The downside comes when we roll a 4 before we can lift the spare checker on the 5pt. Considering that we already have enough checkers back to insure a gammon victory for XG, it seems unlikely that XG would open up his prime after this play. Were XG to try that, we could end up getting hit again, but the parlay seems too remote to worry about.
–- Make the 2pt.
Switching from the 4pt to the 2pt insures that we have the 2pt. This play seems weak, however, because it is unlikely that we will ever remake the 4pt. Either one of the foregoing plays must be at least as good as this.Let’s try picking up the 5pt.
5/4(2), 5/3
