What an interesting position! With the choices as clearly cut as these, I’m bound to learn something here.

Hitting, and simultaneously making an inside point, is nearly automatic in the early game. In this position, however, I prefer to forego the new point, and hit the slotted checker on the other side. I don’t want to give our opponent a chance to make its 4pt, when all we would get is our 3pt. Continuing on, of course, is natural.
