Correction of the H note

I dont have a big problem with using H for 18/17*/14, but my understanding is that doing so invokes assumptive Nactation, rather that the More Points Convention (as you state in your post).
Blue will play 18/17*14
You are correct, sir! Nice catch.
In essence, for H, the down convention replaces the hit convention: H's rule becomes Down-more-6. Hence, the technical translation for the H family is: H = 18/17* 14/11, h = 18/17* 11/8, H = 18/17* 10/7, and only when we run out of down supplements do we get to the strongest hitting play of h = 18/17*/14. [Clearly, the H family is a poor choice for this move.]
Of course, as you say, the interpreter will almost certainly assume that the nactator is implementing assumption, and that therefore 18/17*/14 must be intended. It is only if a reader knows that I almost never use assumption anymore (only to cater to certain audiences in certain situations) that he will be puzzled. After all, R or P work fine, so why would Nack use an assumptive H? The reader would probably be forced to conclude either that the 18/17* 14/11 blunder was actually played, or that I made a technical Nactation error.
As Sherlock Holmes said: "...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." -- The Sign of the Four, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1890), Chapter 6, p. 111.
Fortunately, I actually used the areal letter R to nactate 18/17*/14, and my technical acceptance of capital H was just a side note error. Notwithstanding, a useful lesson emerges: Take care in using style letters.
