just like you can learn ot play backgammon in 5 minutes but you continue to learn foreve, the same is true as a tournament director. Each year you learn a little more from the input that players and mentors give you...From that over time you hopefully are putting on the best possible event for ALL players. I run a tournament based on a National sampling versus local... Local tourneys in Pittsburgh do NOT use clocks and we are jsut as happy as youi are with clocks...It is my humble opinion that use of clocks should NOT be the determining factor on attending regional and national BG tournaments.
