A good move here would be 24/20 13/5*(2) 13/1*(2) 8/4(2) 7/3 6/2*(2) :-)
As we can only play four 4s instead of sixteen, we have to choose.24/20 = one 4, golden anchor (useful as we are ahead in the race and we may want to blitz)
13/5* = two 4s, kick blot off the 5pt, leave it open unless using the other two 4s to make it
13/5*/1* = three 4s, kick blot off the 5pt and hit 2. The last 4 must be 7/3 to cover if we are not masochist.
8/4(2) = two 4s, makes a point but without hitting and leaves an outfield blot. No way.
7/3 = one 4, removes 2 blots at the same time and makes an average home-board point. To do for sure if we are left with an odd 4 to play.
6/2*(2) = two 4s, PoH but then we don't have enough 4s to hit another and cover, so it's not promising for a blitz. After almost any move, we will regret if White anchors on our 5pt, so 13/5* seems a priority. Then 7/3 is a cheap and constructive move, then our race advantage can be preserved by minimizing return shots with a second hit 5/1*, which can be easily converted to a blitz if the opponent doesn't come in with both checkers.
13/5*/1* 7/3
