Clocks are not used in chouettes (but the baffle box is). I would love to have a clock in chouettes where you have nothing but good players, and in that event, I don't think good players would have a problem with it. However, clocks might scare away or intimidate less experienced players, and those are the very players we want most in our chouettes. Therefore, I am more than willing to live with delays if the alternative is to scare the fish away.
Now, having said that, there are one or two players in our Chicago chouette that have been known to take far too much time, and peer pressure has pretty much taken care of that problem for the most part. One thing, for example, you can do in a chouette that you can't do in a tournament, is pour a drink over someone's head if they take too long.
