1. Ahead in the race in what threatens to become a priming battle, I think our priority is to escape the back checker. So 24/21 is the 3. I don't think that creating another blot is worth the risk, so 24/21 8/6.

2. Getting a checker sent back behind White's five-prime looks pretty bad. So playing 16/12 looks too bold. (However, we could consider 16/15 for the ace since it duplicates White's 6's.) Thus the 4 is either 7/3* or 6/2. 6/2 seems too antipositional. I guess I play 8/3* despite the risk.

3. We're playing on, right? So I think we're keeping a checker on the 16pt to try to pick up White's blot. If we play 16/7 then White hits with 61 21 11. If instead we play 16/12 11/6 then White hits with 21 11. I think the 2 extra shots are worth it. We get an extra builder for the ace point and we also slot our bar point in case we decide we want to make it. 16/7.
