Emotion in gaming

does feeling/showing your emotion help or hurt your game?
It is one of the greatest aspect of my gaming. I love to let loose with my elation or disappointment. It definitely helps my play because I can release my emotions and then settle down for the next game. However, it is much different with online vs. live play. With online play, it is like yelling, screaming, and thoroughly enjoying a pro sports match up. Most of us will yell at our favorite team on television. Yet, I suspect that I would be a completely different person in live play. The emotions would be the same. But, it would be in bad taste to complain bitterly or celebrate overly. I am pretty sure that I would check my emotions because I do not chat online. I don't brag, bitch, or whine about bad luck to my opponent. However, anybody within 50 feet of my computer will hear these sentiments.
