Wiki's poker jargon page and several other similar pages omits the delightful term "push-monkey" ("pushmonkey," "pushmonkey poker") but this rec.gambling.poker post by Will from New Haven paints a picture.

I think I actually know the worst professional poker player in the world. IF you define pro as someone who actually turns a profit. She is a push-monkey who mostly plays in Atlantic City in NL cash games when you can buy in for one hundred dollars. She buys in for the minimum and looks for a chance to get all her chips in with an edge. She can DO this ok. She wins more all-in hands than she loses and does make a profit.

However, she can't play with one hundred Big Blinds in front of her. She has to cash out if she doubles up and then she goes to another casino and gets on another list.

The reason she is the worst, even though she makes money:

1: She cannot play beyond the flop. She says that she always has all her chips in preflop or on the flop.

2: She plays no other game than Holdem. She does not even know the rules of stud, etc.

3: Including going from casino to casino and getting on lists, etc, her method has her spending hours and hours every week neither at the table nor off duty. Her hourly win rate is about nine dollars. That counts the hours she spends off the table but "at work."

While she is playing, under the conditions she wants, she isn't a terrible player. But she makes nine bucks an hour playing against some of the worst players in the world.
