Question for Stick

What the hell are we talking about, anyway. Oh yeah, it's 1994 world backgammon champion Frank Frigo's article:

http://www.gammonlife.com/writers/06frigo2.htm.

To assert that no single hand can be much worse than 3:1 all-in preflop against any other hand would indeed be false. But nowhere in the article does Frank say state, infer or imply any such thing. But Bob covered that in r.g.bg., so ...

I sure don't think Frank showed that "Poker is a fascinating game but it definitely falls short of Backgammon in the skill department." He showed that it's easier for a novice to beat an expert in a head's up hold'em session (no rebuys!) than in a 19-point backgammon match. Which isn't exactly the same thing, is it, regardless of whether either situation would arise in real life. Moving on again ...

Bob's first question, dodged, was more interesting but I suppose the second would lead to the first, eventually ....

Suppose you're the pro doing the calling. You know your five-year-old opponent's strategy is to go all-in with any two cards. You're right, Stick, you're not going to call with any old hand. But what two cards -- what percentage of hands -- should the pro call with?
