you're not going to call with any old hand. But what two cards -- what percentage of hands -- should the pro call with?

That's the rub. If someone manages to get to heads up in a tourney who has decent multiplayer skills (almost a given. Almost), it does not follow that they also have good heads up skills. So with blinds and antes not being irrelevant, while at the same time not being crippling, I personally think the all in all the time strategy ought to win more than 25% of the time, perhaps much more thanks to eventually rising blinds that can dwindle the patient pro's stack.

At the same time a great HU pro can reasonably be expected to win 90% or more of the time vs a HU novice at the end of a tourney of the novice is trying to apply skill because he too is losing his stack to blinds/antes.
