1. If we hit with 23/17*, then we can either double hit with 6/1* or bring a checker down with 13/8. If we don't play 23/17*, then 24/18 is the 6 and then we can either anchor with 23/18, bring one down with 13/8, or hit with 6/1*. If we play 6/1* then I think we might as well play 23/18*, and if we don't hit at all then 24/18 23/18 looks better than 24/18 13/8. So that narrows it down to 23/17* 6/1* or 23/17* 13/8 or 24/18 23/18. Not hitting at all seems too passive here. If the cube were already turned then I would feel pretty confident about hitting twice. But since we're creeping up towards a cube I'm less certain. Still, I think 23/17* 6/1* seems strongest.

2. Looks like XG played 23/17* 13/8. Can White take? Blue has 10 checkers in the zone with a massive race lead because White has 3 on the bar. White's main defense is her three-point board, with two of Blue's checkers stuck behind, but I don't think it's enough. I pass if doubled. Is Blue TG? I think it probably is. Blue's position stands to improve and will usually be able to cash next time if necessary. TG/P.

3. 12/8 looks clear and then we have to decide whether to pound away with 7/2* or settle for a win with 15/10 or 21/16. ATS I prefer to pound away.
