It is interesting to note how a one-pip difference in the position of White’s back checkers leads to a reversal in preference between R and r. On the right, the explantion can be laid off on duplication. Running to the 14pt leaves White a 2 to hit. But 22 and 62 already hit on the 11pt, and other 2s might be used to make an anchor on Blue’s 3pt. Is there are a similar explanation why R falls off on the left? Mike |
