Re blinds and antes, including heads-up, see

For NBC National Heads-up Poker Championship 2007 rules, see

There were no antes, only blinds.
Does the 82% have anything to do with pairs vs. pairs? (Probably just a non-related coincidence.)
No.
I'd guess that "optimal play" with stack = 1000 and ante = constant 1 (and assume no blind) would be: wait for AA to call. Maybe KK also.
AA versus a random hand wins 84.93%, ties 0.54%, loses 14.53%.
KK versus a random hand wins 82.12%, ties 0.56%, loses 17.32%.
QQ versus a random hand wins less than 80%.
So the 82%, if correct, would come from the small chance of losing the session even though you win a hand with AA, because of the antes you've lost.
