in the 2. how is the 13-4 best play I dont understand at GS. gives direct shot, already 2 back checkers and risk another one, but lose less gammon.

Slotting, but keeping an anchor is a common idea at GammonSave, when 2, 3 or even 7pt are made on 1st roll. This way you know you won't be closed out.

Also, 13-4 doesnt dublicate anything

I wouldn't go that far [11,31], but duplication is not the point here.

what is the benefit of it? What are the wrongs with normal 24/15, 24/18- 13/10

For the benefit, see my notes above. S=(24/18 13/11) is too exposing at this score in view of 3pt [inviting blitzing plays] already made. As far as 24/15 goes, up till now I thought it was best ATS. Maybe one day it will be.
