Mike:
XG 3-ply [S R7] 15k
42P-63 [S R1] '<46Are these two XG1 rollouts independent of each other (or do they share a common seed)?
Nack: I'm pretty sure they're independent. The one you list second I transcribed on 2/13/10 with a note "Stick, v1.10?" but no reference to source or file. The first was sent to me by David six months later on 8/12/10, seed #87208204, v1.20. Stick and/or David may know more.
Do you have that backwards? That is, do you mean the SECOND was, “sent to me by David six months later on 8/12/10, seed #87208204, v1.20?”As you can see in David’s post at the root of this thread, it is this second rollout
(42P-63 [S R1] '<46) that uses seed #87208204.There is another bit of confusion pertaining to version numbers. You report that the rollout with seed #87208204 was made with XG 1.20, and yet David’s post of that rollout (although perhaps not the rollout itself) was made with XG 1.14.
As always, I apologize for worrying about this sort detail. The only reason I care is because I am carefully transcribing this data, and I am trying to avoid entering corrupt information into my database. What I have so far for 42P-63 is posted below.

It is no coinicidence that the same names appear so often in the sources for this data. Once again, I tip my hat to these generous rollateers.
A word about bots:
In a rollout report, the bot listed is the one used to make the report. It might — or might
not — be the one used to make the rollout. A good for-instance is the 4-ply rollout from Neil. In Neil’s post, the bot is identified as XG 1.14, but the same report includes the seed “[Random].” As XG used “secret” random seeds only in versions 1.12 and 1.13, we can be certain that Neil’s rollout was made using one of those releases. As it happens, the rollout in the XG Opening Book is Neil’s 4-ply rollout, so we know that the actual version was 1.12.Mike
