Seems to me that white will play off the stack next roll whenever possible and if she runs into a double shot then blue will be poised to put her back on the bar. That's the safest way to bring the runners home - with white twiddling her thumbs on the roof.

16/14 5/1 is probably safest, but I don't like burying a checker just yet. 16/10 gives a direct shot now, so that can't be right.

16/14 16/12 leaves 8 shots while 16/12 5/3 only leaves 6 at the expense of playing prematurely to the 3 and not giving us a double shot as often. I'll take the extra two shots.
