I've read all the comments here and I would prefer not to call this particular position a backgame even though it fits the technical definition. It's not that we can't have a 20/21 backgame, it's just that this particular position is so advanced the 'backgame' essence of it has been lost. Daniel's explanation/definition is the one I found most appealing.

I would have paid now before my delay time was up.

This is closer to what I would consider a 20/21 backgame:

		White is Player 2 score: 0 pip: 192 Unlimited Game pip: 128 score: 0 Blue is Player 1
