Unfortunately it could be. Thanks to the windows architecture dll's can be injected into another process, introducing new event and message hooks.
I have some anecdotal evidence that suggests that some real time AV software on the market can interfere with XG to the point that XG's anti-cracking code thinks the product is not properly licensed. At this point the software acts erratically at best. Restarting XG usually solves it.
I have had the occasional bizarre issue like this with XG.
