Jeremy, I was right about anchoring on 23, perhaps the move with the 4 is not as important.

Not really sure, but one thing is you want to be as far back right now as possible to see how the game will develop. White has fewer options than normal on upcoming rolls because she has 4 checkers stacked up on each of her 10, 8 and 6 points. That has something to with it I am sure.

Other thing is you probably will need to be in it until the end of the game, better on the 24 point, but next best thing is the 23, so grab it now.

If you had a fifth checker back there, somewhere on the other side of the board, you could bounce around with it and gain some timing because when you roll too many big numbers soon, and think holding onto the 18 point is good, those checkers in your outer board will have to be played too deep and will crush your homeboard plans.

I am probably wrong on this, but that's how I see it.
