In April 2012, Nack Ballard announced a revision to the More Point Convention. A made point on the 23pt or 24pt no longer counts as an owned point under the More Points Convention. This change will tend to discount the often poor plays in the early game that make an anchor on the 23pt or 24pt instead of splitting out to a better point.
In the case of 53P-41S-66B-31 (diagrammed above), this change works in the reverse. The better backgammon moves make an anchor on the 23pt. This does not affect Nactations in the C (Cross) family, however, the anchoring play in the E (Each) family has been pushed down to third place.
The following is a key to Nactations in Ians rollouts. Here are the updated nacbracs:
53P-41S-66B-31
[-688 P c56 E63] /5
[-671 P c27 E39] /5*4 (0-ply)
[-668 P c24 E47] /e
53P-41S-66B-31 Nactation Key Nactation Traditional Notation Note C (Cross) 24/23, 9/6 By the 6pt Convention, a spare on the 6pt beats a blot on the 5pt. c (Cross) 24/23, 8/5 D (Down) 13/9 By the More Points Convention, making the 9pt rises to the top of the family. E (Each) 23/20, 6/5 By the 6pt Convention, a spare on the 20pt beats a spare on the 21pt. e (Each) 24/21, 6/5 By the 6pt Convention, slotting the 5pt beats slotting the 3pt. E (Each) 24/23, 6/3 Under the More Points Convention, a made 23pt is treated as a stack of spares, rather than a made point. P (Point) 8/5, 6/5 By the 6pt Convention, a made 5pt beats a made 9pt. p (Point) 13/9 Same as D Mike
