When playing the match, some games are more important than others. ....
This table also shows you how to spend your time in the match. You shouldn't waste your precious time in beginning of the match, or when you are way up in the match.

I agree on your first statement but not on your conclusion. Let's assume
your error rate is related to the amount of time you've spent on a game (otherwise the whole discussion is pointless)

If you assume that you should spend more time for DMP because it's so importnat you ignore, that the more time you spend in earlier phases of the game, the higher is the probability you have a favorable score at the end (with other words the score of the last game is not independent to the amount of time spent earlier).
I'll put it to the extreme. If you have 42 minutes to think in a 21 pt (ignoring Bronstein etc.) would it make sense to have 30 minutes left for the DMP and rush through the other 20 or so in 12 minutes?
