When Blue plays N = Near (14/10 5/3), and leaves a checker on the 10pt, there are 5 rolls (31 21 11) that fail to safety his straggler on the following turn. As well, 44 leaves an inside blot.

If Blue plays D = Down (14/8) instead, then 44 leaves a blot on his next turn, while 33 opens a gap. All rolls bring home the straggler.
