White's main threat is the prime, and is strong. White will win some gammons. But Blue does lead the race, has only one back, not two unanchored, and all Blue checkers are in play, mostly on good points, although the spares are unfortunately forward-heavy and otherwise stripped, and the 15 point isn't doing much. Blue should have some counterplay on most of White's good numbers. Blue should win some gammons, too. He should win some games with a redouble.
Break it down: 28 numbers make the bar point (or worse, for Blue, like pointing on the ace point, or making both the 7 and 8 points); how often does Blue win after that? Eight numbers don't make the point; how often does Blue win after that? If White does not double now, how often would Blue take next turn? If White does double, should Blue take? I'd say: maybe six or seven of 28, plus maybe four of eight, not often enough for White to wait, and yes.
