1. 47 pips cover over a multitude of sins, but I double here and am not sure about the take. White still has a three-point board and Blue has two dead checkers on the 1pt. Blue doesn't have as strong a grip on the outfield as he would like. But I would pass.
2. Behind in the race with White having two blots in her home board, I start by hitting with 10/4*. Then 8/7 is the purest play, but does it lose too many gammons? After 8/7, White hits with 25 rolls, with 7 double hits. After the safest hitting play, 10/4*/3, White hits with 15 rolls, with no double hits. The other hitting plays, 2/1 and 10/9, don't seem to gain enough in safety for the sacrifice in position. I think we're not desperate enough to play 8/7. It looks ugly but I'll try 10/4*/3.
3. Blue threatens to send a checker to the bar against a five-point board with 11 rolls, but that's the only real threat. Easy take for White, I think, even leading 6a10a. I don't think I would double for money, but ATS a doubled gammon levels the score. Small double, easy take ATS.
