Here are a few items that would go a long way towards convincing me that a computerized draw was fair.
- Open source software — Whether it is a spreadsheet macro, or a C++ program, the source code for the software should be published.
– - Public draw of RNG seed — The seed used by the random number generator involved in the process should be publicly chosen.
– - Audit trail — Enough records should be kept so that the process can be checked later by anyone who cares to do so.
