Possible New Variant

What would wake up the game is if players had to play aggressively on the opening roll, like not being allowed to split with aces, or run a chequer into the outfield or midpoint. Would overlap with Simborg Rule (ie on a 65), which is also good (can't make a point on the opening roll).
Blot hitting contests, back games, and priming games are all difficult and interesting. Forcing opening plays that tend to create these - rather than those that often lead to mutual boring games and races - is better than changing the centuries old opening set up, as many players are suggesting here. Or try Nackgammon!
