1. We could eschew the hit with 13/5(2). This isn't very gammonish and the gap on the 4pt could still lead to trouble. I'd go for the hit with 8/4*(2). Then 5/1(2) leaves only 6 return shots and keeps the gammon pressure on.

2. Clear from the rear or clear the bar? I'm going to try clearing the bar, with a view to making the 1pt.

3. Blue's safe play 9/7 9/6 looks pretty flexible here so maybe leaving 6 shots with the gammonish 7/4* 6/4 is too much? It's also not a given that Blue will be able to clean up nicely if missed. I'm more uncertain about this one than about problem 1. 9/7 9/6.
