As I said this could be just another variant of backgammon - it can be used for some types of shorter and faster tournaments or jackpot events.

When I first looked at this opening position, which is only 9 pips less than regular backgammon, my thoughts were:

- We have to learn new ways to playing opening rolls. - It will be a faster game since backgames and blitzes are less likely. - 6-6 is not a lucky roll for the second roll of a game.
