In Response To: improving the accuracy (mtuhtan)

If it was 3-4 years ago i would for sure write something as Paul, i also want realistic list but i realized it is impossible. Anyway with every year it become better and better and of course there is always some flaws.
To Be honest i'm bored every time to hear this one should be in, this one should be out and etc. The Giants list is popularity vote and everybody decide how to vote, if it was PR vote then nobody will need your vote, everyone just will check the PR ranking.iF it was only who cash more then again nobody will need your vote. Don't get me wrong i also want to see some changes but it is easy for us humans to see only what is wrong.
There is comite who decide to accept or not any changes, i also suggested some changes years ago, they rejected it but this does not lower my interest to the list
I agree with Paul that 168 players vote is good number is good but not sure how quality cause attendance drop in all tourneys in Europe but voters are 70-80% more. I Guess this is reflected due to new tourneys in some country without tradition in modern backgammon this automatically made some players ineligibly to vote this is how i understand the shows up of some names. But the flaws this time are really acceptable, all the " flaws" at least cash a lot-;) The only strange thing is that there not any new Danes rather than the regular ones... Steen is even lower rated, no Bredhal in top 32, no one from new names...i count only 6 in top 32... not sure Americans(17 in top 32) have better players than Denmark:)
The other thing that for me is stupid is when everyone start ah i play 4.5 or 3.8 i must be in or he must be in. C'mon be realistic, i also can say i'm better then at least 10 top 64 but this will not put me in their places. Also those names that appears here are not so much better alternatives. I agree Rick Janowski is great player, but he did not play internationally last 2 years( as many Americans don't but this is another question). Mike Svobodny was and still is good but he play only MC so his spot look reasonable, he already got his fame. Victor is great i agree he has to be up in the ranking, but he start winning after players have already voted for giants:). For me more shocking stuff is that there is not any Norwegians and Swedish but 2 Turks( i don't count Katja as she is liing in DK). I hope nobody will say i'm racist, i just point out that country with huge tradition of producing bg stars can't qualify even one player.
