Paul, I ask two questions.

However, if it were a more accurate reflection of the true relative skills of the players (instead of a popularity contest or a list of "Who has been lucky recently?"), it would be even better for backgammon.

1. Is it your opinion that the Giants list be an "accurate reflection of the true relative skills of the players" regardless of other factors (winning tournaments, or not playing in any, or some other contribution to or presence on the backgammon scene, etc.) or should the list just be a "more accurate reflection," with other factors counting too?

There was a total of 167 "valid ballots" received. There were some received that were not deemed valid. Of the 167 that were received, I strongly suspect, but would have not way of proving this, that some were cast by people who are not among the top 100 players.

Is it your opinion that only the top 100 players vote for the Giants list?
