After posting the above, I had an uneasy feeling about taking, and sure enough, the bot says it's a big drop. Pull a checker from White's 8pt back to her midpoint so that Blue doesn't have a direct shot, and it seems White can take.

By the way, comparing with the previous problem, I should probably have noted that deuce-point games are typically considerably better than ace-point games, in part because ace-point games lose a lot of gammons.
