I still think it is a theoretical question.

Over the board, Either you Can or you cannot claim gin.

Simple as that. You have your turn, ie your time, you Can decide to play on (which with brostein controls should be a certain win) or you Can decide to claim gin.

If you claim gin you show how if asked. Any errors Will trigger the time penalty.

But given Bronstein time, what is the big deal anyway? Take a Roll and you are done with it.

BTW: which genius made iPad autocorrect capitalize words more or less at random, and then Thought noone needs arrow Keys to correcte afterwards?
