Some thoughts: the bar point is the better defense against a blitz attempt; if Blue is hit in White's outfield, blotting on the 16 points gives two less immediate hits (6/36 instead of 8/36) and gives more returns; the blot covers more of Blue's own outfield from the 16 point than from the 18 point; either play leaves two awkward points and one blot to clear, but assuming the checkers in White's outfield are brought around, the 10 point is clearly a better point than the 11 point to have to be holding against White's 20 point anchor.
