Thanks everyone for explanations. I had figured out a hit was a must, so I got the 6/4*-part right. Then I thought 13/9 was too loose and played the chicken 10/6. According to GNU 2-ply it was almost triple blunder (13/9 is right, of course). I understand it really has to do with the cube being in the middle and the Jacoby rule. So the many more gammons you'd lose after the bold 13/9 hardly has any significance, while the upside is great when things go your way.
