Blue wants to bring five checkers in fairly quickly. Blue wants spares on the 6 and 5. Blue wants the remaining outside checkers not to be blocked. Blue doesn't fear a hit for now. Blue doesn't want awkward -- doublets -- to make a mess of his board. Blue does NOT want to maintain a 4-prime in front of White. Especially a flat one.

So I see four plays worth considering. One is 7/6(3) 2/1, which looks all right except for how 55 plays, and 6's and 5's are blocked. The other three are 9/6 with an ace, either 9/8, 7/6 or 2/1. I'd play 9/6 7/6.
