43U-32 Position ID: 4HPwAQXgc/ABMA Match ID: cAkNAAAAAAAA David asks a Nactation question that I cannot answer. In the position 43U-32, he wants to know how to nactate (13/10 8/4*) in the Hit family. My best guess/explanation follows.
Plays in the H (Hit) family make a single, loose hit. In a post from March, Nack explains a refinement of Hit/More/Six as it applies to the H (Hit) family. He says, “...for H, the down convention replaces the hit convention: H's rule becomes Down-more-6.”

In most cases, it is a change that makes little difference. At the bottom of H family there are now myriad ways to hit, and move the other die almost anywhere on the board. Very seldom is one of these alternatives at the top of the family, however, where it might be preferred by a nactator.
The play David asks about, 43U-32, is an exception. All of the ways to hit on the 5pt rank higher than any of the ways to hit on the 4pt.
- Rank 1 = 8/5*, 13/11 — Hits on 5pt, and plays down.
- Rank 2 = 8/5*, 24/22 — Hits on 5pt, and keeps more points.
- Rank 3 = 8/5*, 8/6 — Hits on 5pt.
- Rank 4 = 8/4*, 13/10 — Hits on 4pt, and plays down.
- Rank 5 = 8/4*, 24/21 — Hits on 4pt, and puts blot on 21pt.
I am uncertain whether hitting, and then continuing on, is allowed in the Hit family. If it is, then 8/5*/3 must be inserted at Rank 1.5 above, and 6/4*/1 at Rank 4.5.
In a pinch, I would sidestep the issue, and nactate (13/10 8/4*) in the Near family, where it earns the capital letter. Another play David mentions, (8/6 8/5*), can be nactated as J.
