"My personal favorite for a world ranking data element is average points/event where events in the current year count 5, last year count 4, previous year count 3, etc. I like the ABT points system as it awards points based on attendance. A tournament with 100 entrants awards 100 total points; a tournament with 20 entrants awards 20. It's a voting system where the people vote on which tournaments should weigh more in the world ranking."

So that I can understand yuor propsed system can you compute for me the average points per event for the two players below please?

Player A: Five years ago had a great year and won a few tournaments. Say got 30 points in 6 tournaments played. Did not play for a few years and this year started playing again. Doing very good but not great this year. Say has 20 points in 10 tournaments.

PLayer B: Same as player A except did not play at all five years ago.
