Taking virtually all of the pressure off his checkers on the midpoint for the privilige of ending up slightly behind the race with 18/10 seems wrong. 18/14, 13/9 buys us some time, but I think that 13/5 looks best if he throws a six and anything other than another six. I'll probably continue my DiMaggio-esque streak of getting every best thematic play vs. most balanced play decision wrong with 18/14(2), 13/9(2).
