I guess Scotch Irish or even Engishmen could get the meaning, The pipe is a national musical instrument here. Sheppards used to blow pipes and sing aloud and be heard at long distances in the mountain. Probably Orpheus sang the same tunes. For a very long time until 20 years ago Bulgaria had more sheep per capita than any other country in Europe and was only second to New Zealdand (and Australia?). During communist times the 6th USA fleet all year through and the arabs once a year ate Bulgarian lamb, Iran ate and I guess still does Bulgarian cheese. Even the Japanese like very much those Bulgarian songs performed by the Pipesmen...
