2008 Giants list voting

I said it before but Ill say it again, this list is imo worthless. Many good players aren't even on the list to vote for, many players who are routinely voted in the top are there on past merits and doesnt deserve to be there, and many people who do vote are intermediates with no clue.

The only reliable source of backgammon skill today is imo to analyze a number of matches and tally up the numbers. Hopefully this will be realistic one day with backgammon boards who automatically record matches etc and tournament rules who prevent chicken shit name players to retract their blunder matches from the statistics. If that was the case today im sure we would see serveral names among the very best who few people had even heard about, and many big names surprisingly low on the list.
