If we hit, I somewhat prefer to hit on the 17 pt, but why hit when we have a strong positional play available? Bar/21 13/10 basically is a next and should leave us winning a couple percent more games than anything nebulous that can result from hitting and noting that even XG2 slightly underestimates the potential of any backgame that could result if White is hit several more times.

The suggestion to play 8/5 rather than 13/10 is very seriously flawed noting that 13/10 is quite useful and creates safe builders as well as a point. Now White has to clean up his mess and try to get his spare on the 24 pt activated before Blue can make a new pt or two and contrain it. 8/5 is an improper slot leaving the 8 pt stripped with 5 checkers still on the 6 pt and thereby often harming both distibution and flexibility.

Bar/21 13/10 should be clear, especially if doing a high level RO (to better handle situations with many checkers back after hit/rehit, rehit, rehit, rehit etc.
